A weekly newsletter will be published here on a Friday afternoon.
This provides information of our learning intentions each week, as well as providing essential reminders of what is happening in class.
Please see below. The newsletter is also posted on Tapestry each Friday.

This week our classroom was over taken by pirates! We have had lots of fun with some pirate themed learning. The children completed some super pirate writing as well as lots of adventure talk, creating and following maps to find treasure. We had a focus on junk modelling. As well as learning new ways to join materials together, children were encouraged to plan and evaluate their work, thinking about how we can improve our work by adding extra detail and decoration.
In R.E. we talked about how Christians believe that God created our beautiful world and that God trusts humans to take care of it. We wondered about how incredible it is that so many different animals and plants exist and we finished our ‘Earth from space’ pictures – the glitter came out!
It was another hot one, so lots of water play to stay cool and the water mister came out again. (We are enjoyng spraying the children way too much!) The playground was too hot and sunny for running games, so we did some ‘under the sea’ yoga in the classroom instead!
We have begun to talk about the transition to year 1 and have started a countdown on our classroom calander to the school holidays. As we go into next week we will be taking part in transition activities as well as free flow play between our classroom and the year 1 classroom. I hope that the the children will become excited about the prospect of moving on and up, as they begin to understand how they have grown way too big and clever now for reception!
I can’t believe next week will be my last full week with your wonderful children. I intend to enjoy every moment before the term comes to an end. Although sad to see them go, I cannot wait to watch them continue to flourish as they progress through the school.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Jo Bentley
