Thanks for all the red clothes today and the generous donations. We had a discussion about what Red Nose Day is and where the money goes, so I hope the children understand a bit more about the day. We all tried to make each other laugh which was great fun!
This week
We have covered “ow” “oi” and “ear” in phonics. In maths we were thinking about number at the start of the week and “counting on” when adding up. You can support your child with this concept by playing board games with a dice, and encourage them to count the spaces as they move their counter on. We also thought about “taller, shorter, and longer” towards the end of the week. In music this week, we did the Hokey Cokey! and have enjoyed carrying on with our gymnastics scheme in PE.
Next week
We will look at numbers 9 and 10 in depth and in phonics we will be looking at the last few patterns within Level 3.
Notices
*The children have made Mothers’ Day cards for you to have on Sunday. They are inside their plastic reading wallets. We hope you have a lovely day.
*We are running a little low on snacks, so if you feel able to donate a packet of rice cakes, raisins or breadsticks again, or if you haven’t already, please send some in next week so the children can have an afternoon snack.
*We will collect the library books in on Monday and won’t choose a new one. This gives us two weeks to chase up and gather all the books in before the end of term.
Enjoy the weekend with your families,
Alice Greening
