Our Policies and Procedures

We have a number of policies and procedures in place that ensure that St John’s is a safe place for your children to thrive – the key policy is our Safeguarding and Child Protection policy which can be viewed in full below.

Other Policies are provided here as key information.

Policies and procedures go hand-in-hand to clarify what we at St John’s CE Primary School want to do and how we do it.

Policies

Policies are clear, simple statements of how we intend to conduct our services and actions. They provide a set of guiding principles to help with decision making.

Procedures

Procedures describe how each policy will be put into action at St John’s CE Primary School. Procedures might just be a few bullet points or instructions. Sometimes they work well as forms, checklists, instructions or flowcharts. They are constantly under review and dynamic so that they best suit the school community at each stage of its development.

Policies and procedures will reflect the values, approaches and commitments of St John’s CE Primary School and its culture. They share the same role in guiding our school.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

If you would like to read any of the school policies in full please contact the school office who will be happy to help with your request and provide a paper copy if appropriate.

Policies are continually under review and will be updated to the website once reviewed and agreed by the Governing Board.

We are currently in the process of reviewing the Relationships and Sex Education policy with Governors and other stakeholders (April 2026)
