Welcome to the PTA page for St John’s Primary School
St John’s PTA are an important organisation within the St Johns School community. Our aims and objectives are:
To raise funds to help the school provide extra resources for the children by bringing together parents and teachers and working towards a common goal.
- To run social events for parents and children; providing an opportunity for people to get to know each other and have fun.
- To encourage parents to become more involved with their children’s school and to develop strong links between home and school.
- To provide support for school events and other special occasions.

Where the money we raise goes
Recently our fundraising focus has shifted to improving the outside play areas. Our aim is to create a new shaded area for the children and improve drainage so that these areas can be used all year round.
PTA funds also fund many regular school events:
- Chocolate Eggs for the Easter Bunny Hunt
- Ice Lollies for all children on Sports Day
- Class Christmas Parties
- Year 6 Leavers Presents and Party
- Children’s Cinema Night
Importantly the PTA also provides each class teacher with a £100 “extras” budget from which they can purchase whatever they like to enhance their classrooms throughout the year. Examples have included additional art and craft materials, project resources and wet play games.
