This week
- We have looked at “oo” in phonics with its two different ways to sound- long and short- and have been finding lots of oo sounds in our reading. We have looked at the tricky word “was” and have started to write sentences as a challenge in our whole class phonics sessions.
- In maths we have been looking at repeating patterns and had a go this week at counting in patterns of 2!
- We went to visit the chicks again and were very surprised at how much they had grown!!
- In PE we got the gym equipment out for the first time and learnt how to carry it safely and use the space in the hall carefully.
Ways to support your child’s learning this week:
The children are getting pretty tired now towards the end of term, so I am not setting any particular tasks but please continue reading with your child at least three times a week and write what you do together in their yellow record books.
Don’t forget the science poster challenge-closing date is Monday. The entries so far from Reception have been very creative! Thank you.
