We have had another good week in Reception. In maths, we have been learning about adding and subtracting and how to record these calculations. We have been continuing with Level 4 phonics and have been completing our special review of the year sheets which you receive as a paper copy to go alongside the digital copy of their school report towards the end of term. The children have enjoyed going to Class One and Two this week whilst we have welcomed the new children in and have been amazing at coping with all the changes.

There are a lot of notices this week I’m afraid!

Blackberry Farm trip

We are so excited about the trip on Thursday. Please can children wear a school blue T shirt and jumper/cardigan with suitable legwear, such as joggers, shorts or leggings. Please check the weather forecast and send your child with a sunhat, with sun cream applied in the morning, or a waterproof coat-or even both! We never know!
The children will need their water bottle but they do not need to bring anything else into school that day.
If your child needs any medication that is not in school already, please go to the office to complete the appropriate forms and let me know as soon as possible.
Children do not need any lunch as it is provided by the school.
Please let me know if there are any questions.

Buddies

As the Year 6 children move on to their secondary schools in September, our class will lose their buddies. We had a long chat about change and moving on during our Friday snack time and allowed the children to ask any questions. The good news is that Year One children buddy up with Year 4 children, so the Reception children do have a new buddy. This buddy stays with them through Year one and two. They have already met them as they have been reading together and are very excited that for the next three weeks they have two buddies!

Sports Day

This will be held on the afternoon of Friday 14th July. More details to follow from Mrs Cooper.

School reports

The children’s school reports will be sent home digitally on Monday 17th July, with an opportunity for you to make an appointment to discuss anything in the last week of term. There is no parents evening this term.

Tapestry

Thank you for all the wonderful photos, comments and videos you have uploaded this year onto Tapestry for us to share at school. We have loved seeing what the children have been doing outside the school environment. We ask that you do not upload anything futher now please, so we can start to bring the children’s accounts to a close. You will be able to download a copy of your child’s learning journal from the 10th July and I will let you know more details next week.

Many thanks for your support as always,

Alice Greening
