This week

In phonics we have been writing short sentences including some of the level 3 revised sounds. We have also been incorporating level 2 and 3 tricky words into our sentence writing. The children have been producing some wonderful work remembering their capital letters, finger spaces and full-stops.

In maths we have been using many different resources to practice increasing a quantity. We have begun to write simple addition sentences, where the children are practicing using the + and = symbols. We began not crossing 10 (3+5=8) and then have moved to crossing 10 (8+5=13).

In science the children have been able to puzzle together pieces of a flower in the correct order. They have also been learning how to label the different parts.

Next week

In phonics we will continue revising level 3 phonics and writing sentences including specific sounds and tricky words.

In maths we will begin learning to decrease a quantity within 10 and 20.

In art we will be looking at the natural world and noticing different features within it. Weather depending we hope to walk around the school field and in the wooded area. If your child does not have wellies in school please can you ensure they bring them in next week.
