Reception Newsletter 20.09.2019

This week

We have been getting into the school routines, managing lunch and playtimes on our own and we even went to a celebration assembly on Thursday. This is an assembly for Reception, Year One and Year Two where that week’s birthdays are celebrated and 2 children from each class are recognised with headteacher’s awards for something great they have done that week. They get a sticker and their award gets sent through the post for you to receive at home.

Thank you for your kind donations for snack and cooking.  It is much appreciated.

Harvest Festival

Reception parents are warmly invited to join in our annual Harvest celebration on Tuesday 8th October at 9am in St John’s Church. The children will sing a song with Year One and Two and will later bake bread with their buddies for our Harvest Sharing lunch.

Photo permission/Minibus travel

Please read Mrs Cooper’s email about permission for photographing children in school and for travelling to local events. You need to let the school office know IN WRITING by Friday 27th September if you would rather your child wasn’t included in public photos or if you would rather they didn’t travel in other parents’ cars instead of the minibus. If we don’t hear from you by that date, permission will be assumed.

Next week

Thank you for letting me know your child’s hours for next week.  1.15 pick up will remain at the main door, 3.15 pick up is at the classroom door, where the children come in in the mornings.

If you feel that your child is ready to leave you at the classroom gate next week, please encourage them to do so, but please be guided by your child. All the children will be ready at different times and we completely understand that.

Thank you for your support. The children have had a great start to the term and are already really settled into school life. I am sure you would be very proud of them if you could be a fly on the wall!
