This week
We are moving to the end of Level 2 phonics and the children are managing to blend and segment in the whole class sessions. We have looked at r and h this week (we didn’t get on to b as we did a lot of reinforcement activities) and have now learnt all the level 2 tricky words. The children should have the new letter cards in their bag and next week we will stick in tricky words too.
In maths, we have been looking at 4 and 5 and different ways to represent them.
We enjoyed learning about firework night and Guy Fawkes and the children have responded really well to our thinking about Remembrance today.
Next week
We will cover b,l and f in phonics and look at one more and one less in maths. It is “anti-bullying week” so we will be thinking about friendship and kindness.
It is Odd sock day on Monday!
Have a lovely weekend with your families,
Alice Greening
