This week
The children have managed so well in this heat! Thanks for supporting so well at the front gate. I think they are settling well and starting to get used to the new routines.
There are just a few notices and reminders this week:
Please can the children just bring in a book bag and water bottle. They do not need a large rucksack as there is not space for them in the cloakroom and they obscure other children’s name labels where they hang. Thank you for your understanding.
From time to time, children will have toilet accidents at school even if this does not happen at home. They get busy and forget to go, or we may be in school away from the classroom or on the playground far from the toilet. Please can they have spare underwear in their PE bag or book bag. We do have spares at school but if your child does use these, please wash and return them as soon as possible. There is a school nappy and soiled clothing changing policy. Please let me know if you would like to see it.
There will be a “How to support your child in Reception” parents evening at 7pm on Thursday 28th September in the school hall. All parents are welcome. We will be talking about what we teach during the year, how to support your child’s learning and what we expect from reading at home.
From next week, any children who have a sibling in the school and feel ready to come in with their brothers or sisters at normal school time (8.40-9) may. The older siblings should bring the Reception children all the way down to the classroom and then go back to their classroom. Children with no siblings should continue to come in at 9 and wait with Mrs Warrener to come down altogether.
Sorry for all the information! I will upload some photos of all the busy learning this week.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any queries.
Have a lovely (hot!) weekend with your families.
Mrs Greening
