Reception Newsletter 07.02.20
This week
We have been thinking about Italy this week. The role play area has been a pizza restaurant, we have been doing pizza maths with our adding up and have worked out how to make dough by exploring with flour and water.
We have looked at th and ng in reading and spelling and have been exploring different ways to make 5 in our maths sessions.
We went to the computer room again, and all children are using the mouse to access a range of games now. The children enjoy the games on phonics play if you want to find it at home:

The children are working at the end of Phase 2 and at the start of Phase 3 if you are choosing the levels they need
Next week
We will look at oo and ee and practise writing sentences. We will be making up stories for the St Johns 500 words competition and in maths we will continue looking at number bonds using 6,7 8 and 9.
Notices
- Thanks to all the parents who have read stories to the class this week. Maya’s mum even read to us in Spanish! Please let me know if you wold like to come in at any point.
- Don’t forget Pizza express on Thursday. We will be leaving promptly at 9am, so please try and be at school at 8.40. Remember that your child will not need a lunch booked as we come back to school to eat our pizzas.
