This week
We have started our phonics sessions this week and the children have enjoyed getting to know Sam and Kit, the characters on the screen and in the reading books. We have covered letters s a t and p and have started to put them together to make small words.
We enjoyed going out on the bikes again and did a PE session using bean bags. The children enjoyed the Harvest festival in church and reading with their buddies.
Next week
We will start small group sessions for phonics and maths in the mornings and continue building up our activities in the afternoons. We are thinking about families as our focus and will do some activities around this subject.
Notices
The children are coming home with the phonics cards for letters we have learnt this week. Please ask your children to read them with you, making words such as pat, tap, sat, sap to blend. You can play games with them such as hide and seek and splat. Please write a little note in the yellow book each time you engage with your child using the phonics cards.
