This week

In phonics this week we have been revising level 2&3 phonics and sight reading the tricky words together. The children have been continuing their independent sentences to do with our focus text, ‘Cyril The Lonely Cloud’ by Tim Hopgood. In maths we have been learning all about repeating patterns, creating our own, looking at doubles and odd and even numbers.

In PE we have continued to learn the basic rules of sports day activities.

In science we have been exploring floating and sinking and have used our team made boats for this science experiments.

The children are very captivated with the observation of our caterpillars, and they are now in the chrysalis stage!

Next week

In phonics we will be revising level 2&3 phonics and sight reading the tricky words together. The children will continue to write independent sentences linked to our class text.

In maths we will be learning to replicate and build scenes and construction, this focuses on spatial reasoning, developing the children’s thinking as to where objects are in relation to each other.

In art we will be looking at the artists Andy Goldsworthy and Walter Mason and will be producing paintings in their style.

Many thanks for all your support,

Miss Morling
