This week
In phonics this week we have been revising level 2&3 phonics and sight reading the tricky words together. The children have been writing independent sentences to do with our focus text ‘Cyril The Lonely Cloud’ by Tim Hopgood. In maths we have been learning all about sharing and grouping.
We have enjoyed going to the school field for PE where the children where fabulous at team ball games. We have been lucky to enjoy the Dan the skipping man session on Monday morning, the children listened well and all managed the basic skipping techniques (look out for pictures on Tapestry).
For science we have our very own hungry caterpillars to observe as they go through the metamorphosis process. We have also started experimenting with objects to see if they can float or sink.
Next week
In phonics this week we have been revising level 2&3 phonics and sight reading the tricky words together. The children will continue to write independent sentences linked to our class text. In maths we will be learning to identify units of repeating patterns and create our patterns.
In PE will continue to learn the basic rules of sports day activities.
In science we will continue to explore floating and sinking and will be using our team made boats for our science experiments.
Notices
You will be receiving a letter this week regarding our trip to Blackberry Farm. The cost of the trip per child is £29 (voluntary).
