It has been a lovely Christmasssy last week at school. We have had so much going on and the children have been loving all the Christmas activities. On Monday it was the party and film night, Wednesday we had Christmas dinner and today we enjoyed wearing our Christmas jumpers and watching the teachers act out the Nativity story! We also had a lovely afternoon watching the CBeebies pantomime on the large screen in the PA room with a few extra treats. The children seem super tired and very excited now and are just about ready for a break from school and some nice family time.
Thank you so much for all your support this term with reading, engaging with school emails and supporting your children’s learning in so many ways. It has been a pleasure getting to know all the children and all of you.
It is mixed emotions for me as I prepare to leave St Johns. It would never have been my intention to leave part way through an academic year, but an opportunity for me to lead the music in a larger school and still stay local is too good to pass. It certainly was not an easy decision.
I will truly miss the children and the school, but they will be well supported by the existing team of Mrs Warrener, Mrs Sadler and Miss Comer as they get to know their new teacher Ms Morling. They have made such good progress already since September and I know this will continue next term.
Ms Morling will keep the email address: ag@stjohnsprimary.org and this Tapestry account, to make the transition smooth, and will take over the management of these from 2nd January 2024.
Thank you so much for your generous gifts that you gave us yesterday. We are always truly overwhelmed by the genorosity of parents, especially at Christmas and when people have very little to spare. We love our jobs and don’t need any other reward than what we do every day, but it is always nice to feel appreciated, so thank you.
All that remains is to wish you all a very happy Christmas and a wonderful start to 2024.
Best Wishes,
Alice Greening
