This week

We have continued our phonics whole class sessions and have covered letters i n m and d. We have started putting some letters together to make words e.g. it, sat, pat, pin etc.
We have started whole class maths sessions and have been thinking about sorting and matching and putting things into sets.
We accompanied a song in our music lesson, read with our buddies on Wednesday and had a fun PE lesson thinking about different ways to move our body.
We had a great PSHE lesson looking at rules of games, rules at school and rules at home and thinking about why we need rules.

Next week

We will look at letters g o c and k and practise blending and segmenting. In maths we will be thinking about comparing amounts, mass, size and capacity.
On Thursday we will go for an Autumn walk on the field in the morning, so please can the children bring wellies in to school.

Notices

Please read with your child every day if you can and record any phonics they do in the yellow books. You do not have to write in when you have read to your child e.g. a bedtime story or the library book. The reading wallets in their book bags should stay in there and be returned to school each day so an adult can read with them at school. From next week, we will try and hear the children read once a week in school. All children should have letter cards s a t p i n m and d. Some were put loose into the book bag if their wallet wasn’t in school so please check. Any questions about reading, please refer to the PowerPoint from my parent presentation which is on the school website, or email me.

Thanks for your support as always,

Alice Greening
