This week
We have been looking at the letters p-i-n in phonics and have been starting to blend letters together to make words.
In maths, we have looked in depth at the numbers 1-3 and played lots of hiding and guessing games involving different representations of the numbers.
We have made lots of poppies to decorate the classroom, and were very impressed at the the children’s questions about Remembrance day. Mrs Cooper came in to do a little assembly and they all managed brilliantly to do a two minute silence on Wednesday.
Next week
We will be looking at the letters m, d, g and o.
In maths, we will explore circles and triangles, and we will start to think about the Hindu celebration of Divali.
Home learning support
*Each child now has letter cards or a reading book to take home. Please practise with your child and return the books, wallets and letter cards to school every day so they can read with adults at school too. We can’t share the resources at the moment, and they are also targetted to your child, so please can they come back to school each day. If you want an extra set to keep at home to display or play games, please let me know and I can send you some. We are washing our hands before and after reading to limit the transfer of germs from home to school and ask you to do the same please. Thank you.
If you want links to the actions and songs we use at school, they can be found here:

*Phonics books-please do pages 18, 19 and 20 next week.
Notices
We are in the process of putting together a virtual presentation for new parents who are unable to visit the school this year, which will be posted on our school website in the public domain. I am hoping to use lots of photos from the learning the children have done this year. Can you please let me know by FRIDAY 20th NOVEMBER if you DO NOT wish your child to be included.
Many thanks for all your support,
Alice Greening
