This week
We have had a great week! The children have come back really refreshed and ready to learn-thank you.
In phonics, we have looked at reading and writing the letters s a and t. Please see the uploaded presentation for links to the songs and actions we use to support teaching these.
In maths we have been looking at pattern. There is a good game here that we have explored at school, if your child would like to do it at home too over the weekend;

(use level 1 to start and 2 if they are confident. 3 is pretty challenging!)
We learnt the story of Guy Fawkes and have done lots and lots of firework art.
Next week
We will look at the letters p i and n. Children will all bring home letter cards to practise at home from the end of next week if they haven’t already.
In maths, we will look at the numbers 1, 2 and 3 in real depth.
We will also talk about Remembrance Day and do lots of activities around the emblem of the poppy.
Library
As we only have one timetabled slot in the library and the books have to be left in quarantine for a week before any one else can share them, we will only go to the the library on a Thursday afternoon. Don’t worry if your child forgets their book on occasion-but we can’t catch up the next day-they will have to wait until the next Thursday.

Thanks so much for your time on the phone this week. I hope it has been useful. I have 6 families that I haven’t managed to contact yet. I will call during lunchtimes and after school this week to catch up. Apologies.
It has been lovely to see our Year 6 children reading on the screen for us. In previous years, we have been able to invite parents in to read a favourite story to the class, but sadly we can’t do this at the moment. If you would like to read a story at home, please record it on video and either upload it to Tapestry or email it to me, then we can watch them on our screen. Thank you. You can involve your child in the video, or just read to us-a bit like a CBeebies bedtime story!
