This week
It has been lovely to have the whole class together this week. They have settled really well and are learning the classroom routines quickly. it is very different for us, as we cannot use the buddies or the older children to support the transition into school, as in previous years, but they seem to be coping well with the new ways of doing things.
A few notices:
The children are offered a carton of milk in the morning with their snack and have a beaker of water with their lunch so we are ensuring that they drink plenty. A few of them were mentioning that they were being asked about how much they had drunk in the day as their water bottles were coming home full, so I thought I would just mention that they are having other drinks beside what is in these bottles. When they stay all day, they will use their bottles much more during the afternoon.
Starting times next week are different as on the newsletter last week. Siblings may come in with their family at the house group time from now on and those without siblings may come at the end of the staggered timings at 9am. The end of the school day for reception will still be at 1pm for the next week.
Please email me with any queries or questions: ag@stjohnsprimary.org
Thanks so much for your support for a positive start to school for the children.
