This week
Thank you so much for your support with the settling in mornings this week. It has been a really positive experience for us and the children, and we feel it has enabled us to build relationships with each child in these small groups. It has been amazing how confident they have been about coming in by themselves-something we just didn’t know how it would be-so that has been brilliant too.
This positive start has enabled us to reflect on the next few weeks and the plans we put in place and we have decided on a few changes that I hope will make things easier, especially for those families with siblings at the school.
Please read this information carefully and let me know if there are any queries by email.
Next week beg 14th September (no changes from the letters given out in July)
Monday: Summer born children (Apr 1st-Aug 31st) only in school. 9.15 til 1pm. Lunch is provided.
Tuesday: Summer and Spring born (Jan 1st-Mar 31st) children in school 9.15 til 1pm. Lunch is provided.
Wednesday: as Tuesday
Thursday: All children in school 9.15 til 1pm. Lunch is provided.
Friday: All children in 9.15 til 1pm. Lunch is provided.
Week beg 21st September (slight changes for families with siblings)
All children are in school until 1pm. We did envisage that the start time would stay at 9.15 for this week but we have decided that children with siblings in other year groups may come in with their siblngs at their allotted house group time from 8.40 and wait with Mrs Warrener to come down to our classroom altogether. Children without siblings are to come in at 9.15 please. As we cannot use children from other classes to help us get the children to the classroom, this split will enable us to manage the children carefully with the Reception staff.
Week beg 28th Sep (**changes to times given in July**)
All children can be in school for a full day. For families with siblings, the Reception children can arrive and leave at the same times as their older siblings. For children without siblings, please arrive at 9am and collect the children at slightly after 3.15 (the last house group of older children leaves at 3.15 and we will dismiss the Reception children after this).
Children are still able to be collected at 1pm if you wish, every day or on some days-just let me know.
We imagine that these timings will then stay for as long as the staggered timings are necessary, but if things are not working, we may have to change again!
Thanks for your understanding and patience. We hope this has made things easier for those with more than one child at school.
