Reception Newsletter 24.01.20
This week
We have had a really busy week thinking about the Chinese New Year.
We have been making lanterns, we did a dragon dance and made money wallets.
Some children have been practising their writing by making books and in maths we have been looking at calculating within 5.
Thank you to all those children who brought in their special books as part of our RE learning. It was lovely to see such a range and they enjoyed sharing them with their friends.
We have finished learning all the alphabet letters and have been practising writing words and sentences.
Next week
We will start to explore two letters making a new sound (a digraph) e.g. ch and sh.
We will learn the story of the Chinese New Year and why the years are named after animals.
Notices

- The Pizza Express email has gone out, so please return the money/slip by the end of the month. There is no need to send the permission slip if you tick the consent box on Parentpay.
- Thanks to Tessa’s Mum and Emilys’ Mum who have read stories to the class this week. Please let me know if you wold like to come in at any point to read to the class.
Thank you for all your support, especially with the children’s reading at home. I am starting to see rapid progress because of this support, so thank you. It is really appreciated.
