Reception End of term notices
• Please return all library books by the end of this week. We do have a record of the book your child had last, so please email me if you would like to know. We have 16 outstanding.
• School reading books will be collected in on Monday 22nd July and their yellow reading records are passed to the next teacher. If you would like any information about how to continue to support your child’s reading over the summer holidays, please email me.
• PTA disco is tomorrow from 3.30. Children can bring clothes to change into after school and they are taken to the hall according to the PTA list we are given. Please ensure your child knows if they are going or not (and that you have paid the PTA) when they come in to school in the morning-this really helps us out at the end of the day. Children are then collected from their normal classroom exit at the end of the disco.
• Don’t forget to download your child’s learning journey from Tapestry. You should have received notification by now. If not, you can access the PDF file if you click on your name in Tapestry on the top right hand corner of the screen, then click on downloads. Please let me now as soon as possible if you have any difficulties. The current accounts will be made inactive at the end of July and then you cannot access any of the lovely learning your child has done this year. Only 8 have been downloaded so far……..
• Friday is a fun day for the children from Reception to Year 2 with activities on the field-you don’t need to do anything for this!
• PE bags will come home tomorrow and don’t need to be returned.
• The children will spend the morning in their new class with Mrs Turner on Monday 22nd. We have already had several transition meetings, so she has a good knowledge of the children.
• The children’s buddies in Year 6 will obviously be leaving the school soon, but the buddy system continues with Year 1 paired with Year 4. The children will meet their new buddies this week.
• Some people like to make a card or buy a little token of appreciation for their existing buddy, but this is by no means compulsory-it is entirely up to you.
• School reports come home via your child on Friday 19th. Please come and see me or email if you have any part of the report that you wish to discuss further.
Finally a big thank you for all your support this year. It has been a pleasure to get to know and teach your children. We have all thoroughly enjoyed our first year in Reception at St Johns and have very fond memories of this lovely class.
