End of last term
We had a very busy end of term! There were no newsletters for the last two weeks-apologies-but things tend to get a bit out of routine at the end of term. Please remember that you can always email if you have any queries or questions. I hope you all had a lovely holiday with your families.
Tapestry
Thank you so much for all the uploads last term and over the holiday. Most of the children have now had a chance to share some learning with the class and they have really enjoyed presenting their pictures. I have contacted those parents personally who have yet to upload something for your child to share with us-please do so if you can as it is such a valuable learning experience to talk in front of their friends and teachers. This term, please focus on reading, writing, technology or maths for home observations and you only need to add something if you feel it is a “Wow” moment or represents new learning for your child. One or two observations for the term is fine. Thank you.
You may notice that there are not as many observations being uploaded from school now as there were at the start of the year. This is due to the children showing their learning in different ways now they are able to write and make marks on paper more readily, or read to us. We are still recording their progress in school and a sample of their learning journeys will be moderated by a county team sometime next term.
School lunches
During the Summer term the kitchen provide a lunch bag that the children can take outside to eat. If you choose the “baguette” option on Parentpay, this is what your child will receive. It consists of a baguette, a traybake or biscuit, a drink and a piece of fruit. Children with a home packed lunch will be able to eat their lunch outside with their friends. Main meals continue to be provided as normal.
Milk
Please don’t forget if your child is 5 now, you will need to pay if you would like them to continue having milk at school, as the government only fund milk for 4 year olds. Coats
Although the weather may seem nice at the start of the day, it can often rain without warning, so please ensure that your child has some sort of waterproof coat even throughout the summer months. You may like to send a fold up one in to keep in their tray if you don’t want to bring one every day.
