St. John the Evangelist, Crowborough
We are proud of our links with St John’s Church; we have weekly services led by Father Andrew Hawken and Phil Morris for the children from Years 2 – Year 6. These ‘assemblies’ (Acts of Collective Worship) are seen as a time to share Christian values and learn more about the Anglican traditions of our church. The whole school joins with the church in celebrating the major yearly festivals such as Harvest, Christmas and Easter.
We are continuing to develop the links between the school community and the church community to enable us to grow in support and encouragement for each other which will further develop the Christian community of ‘St John’s’. All families connected with the school are warmly invited to all the services at the church.
The Parish church of Saint John the Evangelist, Crowborough, is set in a beautiful rural setting situated within the Ashdown Forest. It enjoys a long-standing pattern of worship in the Catholic Tradition of the Church of England and their main Sunday Mass include sung liturgy and worship supported by a regular choir. St John’s is a welcoming church which is focused on the love of Jesus Christ, which we aim to share with those in the parish and the wider community including St John’s CE Primary School.
The Church offers different types of services to cater for all needs from the Mass (also called the Eucharist or Holy Communion) in both modern and traditional language, with Sunday Club for the younger children and JAM (Jesus and Me) for the older ones and a twice monthly family service. The congregation is active and growing and you would be assured of a warm welcome.
