This week I want to say a huge well done to all the children for their amazing efforts and terrific behavior during sports day! It was a very long and super hot day for our youngest children but I am sure you will agree they were amazing and it was a really fun day. They particularly enjoyed the morning activities run by their year 6 buddies, and showed great determination and resilience during the races in the afternoon too! I was very proud of them all. Thank you to everyone who came along to support, I hope you enjoyed the afternoon. I have many photographs, which I will sort through and share over the coming days.

This week in phonics we have continued with level four, reading and writing longer words, focusing on blending and segmenting words with adjacent consonants as well as practising new tricky words. In maths we have been consolidating our number bonds to ten through activities in provision as well as returning to shape, manipulating and recognising shapes once they have been rotated as well as problem solving, using mathematical language to explain what we can see.

We have enjoyed some outside water play and some yoga in the classroom as well as lots of singing and action songs this week.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Jo Bentley
