Phew, this week was a hot one! I had far too much fun spraying the children with my misty water spray to cool down, I think they enjoyed it too! We had lots and lots of water play this week to stay cool as well as regular hydration breaks. Please do remember to apply suncream as well as send a water bottle and hat when the weather is hot!

Our classroom ipad is fully functional again so I have been able to upload the photographs from our trip last week for you to enjoy.

In phonics we have been reading some Kit and Sam adventures – we read about their trip to a deserted island and met a shipwrecked pirate called Fran! The children have been reading and writing polysyllabic words such as “thunderstorm” and “driftwood” they have been super readers! I have sent home a paper copy for you to share with your child. We have also learnt two new tricky words,

In maths we have been identifying units of repeating pattern, as well as exploring and creating pattern rules. We have also further explored positional language as well as spatial reasoning and perspective, exploring how objects look different when viewed from different perspectives. Next week we will use this knowledge to explore mapping as we continue our pirate adventures.

In P.E. we took the parachute down to a shady area of the field and used our communication and collaboration skills to play lots of fun games and get a great upper body workout at the same time.
