What a busy week! We had a great time on Tuesday at Hodore Farm, the children were all incredibly well behaved we were very proud of them all. There were lots of hands on activities that helped us learn about life on a farm. We became soil detectives and had so much fun with a worm calculator. We met some impressive farm vehicles and got to climb up and explore the drivers seat! We investigated pond life and other habitats, as well as seeing how crops are grown and cultivated to make food for us. We had a fun picnic in the woods, played games and hunted for bugs!

Then, the next day was Sports Day! The morning was great fun, year 6 ran a number of events involving many different sporting skills, golf, hockey, long jump, football and even welly throwing to name a few! Thank you to everyone who joined us for the picnic lunch and the afternoon races. It was a long and busy day for our smallest children, they did incredibly well, we were very proud of them all!

We also managed some phonics and maths lessons. We have learnt 2 new tricky words: ‘little’ and ‘one’ and we have been investigating odd and even numbers through sharing. We found out that if you have an odd number of items you cannot share them fairly between 2!

It is Fathers Day on Sunday, so of course the children have all made a card, please do check your child’s bookbag.

I was hoping to share lots of lovely photographs with you today of our trip on Tuesday, but sadly I am experiencing technical issues with the ipad we took the photographs on. It is being looked at, so I hope to be able to send you the photos very soon.
