Thank you to all those who attended parents evening on Tuesday. I look forward to seeing everyone else at the next one in March.

It’s been another fun and busy end to the term, on Tuesday we tried break dancing and beat boxing! The children had so much fun, it was great. I have attached some photographs for you to enjoy. The breakdancing teacher referred to the importance of counting when dancing, something we have been learning throughout our p.e. dance lessons this term. In p.e the children performed our final dance on Wednesday brilliantly, copying, repeating and remembering all the moves with increasing control. Wednesday after school we had the school disco, those who went along were very excited to change into their party clothes and had a great time.

This week was Internet safety week. In reception we have been learning about how to stay safe when online and have used the computers in the computer suite, learning how to control the mouse, by drawing simple lines and shapes. Our class value is love and as it is Valentines day tomorrow the children have this week made and written Valentines cards, printing hearts with potatoes and cardboard tubes.

In phonics we have learnt the long ‘oo’ sound (moon), the short ‘oo’ sound (book), ‘ar’ (car, star) and a new tricky word, you. In maths we dug for pirate treasure in the sand, counting up the amounts of different colour gems and adding groups together.

Thank you as always for your support. Have a wonderful half term break,

Jo Bentley
