We had a great morning making pizzas at Pizza Express yesterday, the children all behaved beautifully, we were very proud of them all and the pizza was delicious! We enjoyed our pizzas back in the classroom along with a selection of healthy vegetables and then in the afternoon we wrote instructions on how to make pizza, they all did a great job!
In phonics we learnt three new digraph sounds, ‘oo’ (long – as in moon, pool) ‘oo’ (short – as in book, cook) and ‘ar’ (star, car) we have been reading and writing words with these sounds in. In maths we have been learning doubles within 10 and odd and even numbers. In R.E. we learnt about the special holy book for Muslims, the Qur’an. In P.E. we began to move our bodies like animals from the Australian outback, deciding on and practising movements that we can put together in a sequence to create a dance next week.
Reminders: Please do remember to send your child to school in a rainproof coat with a hood on rainy days, we do try to spend time outside if the rain isnt too hard! Please also try to listen to your child read their school reading book at least 3 times a week and record it in the reading record book when you do. This really does make all the difference to their progress.
Thank you for your support, have a wonderful weekend,
Jo Bentley
