Everybody looked smart this morning and posed beautifully for our class photograph, I can’t wait to see the result!
In our learning this week we have been using the sounds we know to write sentences and lists. We have been consolidating our learning of phase 3 sounds by playing phonics games, such as bingo and a word hunt to read and write words using the sounds we know. In maths we have been focusing on subtraction, we had a cheeky monkey and a cheeky parrot in the classroom who kept taking away!
In art we looked at work by Faith Wilding and had a go at creating our own version of ‘Gold Leaf Kite’ using oil pastels. First we created a line drawing together as a whole class, then we used oil pastels to add colour in small groups, this will continue next week. We were unable to use the hall for p.e. this week, so we had a yoga session in the classroom, which the children loved! I have attached some photographs for you.
We had an enjoyable walk over to the church on Wednesday and looked around, spotting the important features we have been learning about with Mrs Blakeley and had a go at sketching items of interest, photos of this visit are also attached.
You should have received a letter today outlining the details of our class trip to Blackberry Farm next term – a really fun day out to look forward to!
Thank you as always for your ongoing support, have a wonderful weekend,
Jo Bentley
