I was incredibly proud of our reception class this Wednesday when we accompanied the rest of the school to the church for the Harvest celebrations. They were fantastic, they walked beautifully there and back with their buddies and joined in, singing the songs we had been practicing. Thank you to everyone for the food donations, in the classroom we learnt about the meaning of Harvest and talked about being thankful.
In maths we have been noticing, copying, continuing and creating patterns. We have also learnt four new sounds this week, i, n, m and d. The children have learnt the sound and the action and should be able to show you and practice these at home. We have also started putting some of these sounds together to make small words such as ‘sat’ ‘pat’ tin’ ‘sad’.
We have enjoyed our usual buddy reading and library sessions and have been drawing self portraits, apple stamping and mark making in flour.
Next week we shall be learning about Autumn and I hope (weather permitting) to go out onto the field on Monday to collect some Autumn treasures. Please could your child bring a pair of wellington boots to school for this (If you don’t already have a pair in school).
Going forward our school library visits will be on a Thursday afternoon and p.e. will be on a Wednesday morning.
Thank you for your support, have a wonderful weekend.
